EkoLance's community call held on the 29th of February was filled with exciting updates, from our events in February to upcoming events and what we have been up to lately. The community meeting also featured discussions about our mentorship program and monthly guides to help Web3 professionals succeed in their careers.
Our Impact as an Educational Platform For Web3 ProfessionalsÂ
EkoLance boasts 5000+ trained Web3 professionals, a talent pool of over 6000 professionals, a community of over 8000, and about 50,000 blockchain professionals reached through our partners all over the globe. With our online hackathon platform called techFiesta, companies have been able to launch over 13 developer events with top blockchain companies, 106+ projects have been built, and over $120K has been paid in bounties.Â

Events Held In February
The month of February was very exciting as we had two interesting events. The 1st event was a technical workshop focused on mastering smart contract security in the upcoming bull run. The session featured Victor Okafor, an esteemed alumnus of our inaugural Smart Contract Audit training program. He is currently employed at Quill Audit, a prominent auditing firm, Victor shared invaluable insights and expertise gained from his experience. It was truly an honour to have him lead this workshop, providing attendees with practical knowledge and strategies to navigate the complexities of smart contract security. The 2nd event highlight of the month was a session led by Dorcas, a seasoned DeFi Trader, who shed light on the concept of airdrops. With clarity and precision, Dorcas elucidated the intricacies of airdrops, outlining how they can serve as a lucrative side income opportunity for many. By explaining the process of discovering airdrops and maximizing their potential, she empowered participants to capitalize on this innovative means of earning. Whether you're new to DeFi or a seasoned trader, the insights shared in this session offer valuable guidance for anyone looking to diversify their income streams. Upcoming Event In March
March 8th is celebrated as International Women’s Day, and in honour of this occasion, EkoLance is proud to announce a special panel discussion featuring powerful women from the blockchain industry. These esteemed panellists are not only leaders in their respective fields but the hiring managers within their organizations. What We Have Been up to
Recently, we've been enhancing our online hackathon platform; techFiesta, to unlock greater opportunities for professionals like you. One of the key features we're focusing on is on-chain certification and proof of participation using Soul Bound Tokens (SBT). We've already introduced a vital aspect; online identification.Â
Now, when companies initiate hackathons or freelance projects on techFiesta, they can request participants' IDs. This enables participants to verify their identity using a passport and selfie, with the information securely encrypted and stored on the blockchain. Collaborating with Concordium, we're developing on-chain certification for individuals attending our training, workshops, jobs, or hackathons through techFiesta and EkoLance. Upon completion, participants will receive SBTs, non-transferable tokens stored in their wallets, certifying their experiences and building their on-chain portfolio.
This on-chain certification addresses the growing concern of fraudulent claims within the blockchain space, providing clients with verifiable proof of professional experiences. By showcasing their on-chain portfolio, individuals gain a competitive edge over others lacking this credential, enhancing their credibility and trustworthiness in the eyes of potential clients. We'll be providing tutorials on how to leverage these features effectively.Â
