On November 29th, our community convened in a Zoom session, where we shared exciting updates, opportunities, and ongoing and upcoming events with them. In this virtual gathering with our community members, we delve into the latest news surrounding EkoLance and techFiesta, providing a glimpse into what the future holds.

EkoLance’s Impact as an Educational Platform For Aspiring Web3 Professionals

EkoLance boasts 2000+ trained Web3 professionals, a talent pool of over 4250 professionals, a community of over 8000, and about 50,000 blockchain professionals reached through our partners all over the globe. With its developer activation platform called techFiesta, companies have been able to launch over 13 developer events with top blockchain protocols, 70+ projects have been built and over $90K has been paid in bounties. 


So far, we have launched six training programs to help blockchain professionals upskill and develop their expertise. The programs include


Concluded: Smart Contract Audit Training

EkoLance remains committed to delivering exceptional training programs for blockchain professionals, and our most recent program, the Smart Contract Audit Training successfully ended on the 7th of November, 2023. 


The training was launched on the 5th of September, 2023, and it was designed to cater to professionals who want to hone their skills in Solidity development and become proficient and certified Smart Contract Auditors. The primary objective was to educate participants on the best practices for auditing smart contracts so they could contribute to the overall security of decentralized applications. 


It attracted over 25 participants and each session was guided by expert trainers, with extensive experience in conducting audits for prominent blockchain companies. Their wealth of knowledge and guidance ensured that participants received top-notch training and invaluable insights, equipping them to effectively secure the blockchain ecosystem.


Concluded Developer Challenges

 1. Concorduim Developer Challenge

The recently concluded Concorduim Developer Challenges on techFiesta took place from November 22nd to December 4th, 2023.  It marked a milestone in the adoption and development of secure and efficient smart contracts on the Concordium platform.


This challenge attracted  51 skilled participants ready to dive into the world of blockchain and smart contract development. Before the challenge began, the Concordium team conducted an intensive developer training program focused on Rust programming language and the nuances of developing smart contracts on Concordium.

2. Haven1 Developer Challenge

Haven1 Developer Challenge on techFiesta spanned from November 22nd to December 4th, 2023. Haven1 is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain that brings key principles of traditional finance to Web3


With a focus on security, reliability, regulatory compliance, and an intuitive user experience, Haven1 offers a robust and scalable infrastructure for lightning-fast, safe, and secure transactions. This challenge was an opportunity for developers to innovate applications with the potential to transform tangible smart contracts on the Haven1 chain. 


It attracted 41 passionate participants who competed for prizes from a pool worth $500. 10 winners emerged, each exemplifying outstanding skill, creativity, and a deep understanding of the Haven1 task. Click here to get the full details in a press release.


Concluded Hackathons

1. THE Hub Hackathon

techFiesta hosted a hackathon with THE HUB for all tech enthusiasts and innovators! It spanned from September 25 2023 to November 10, 2023. THE Hub platform provides a suite of tools for investing, building, and experiencing Gaming and Metaverse worlds


Developers were given a task to come up with solutions that can enhance the capabilities of Decentraland (DCL) and its avatar models, as well as the Metaverse Explorer/Valuation tool. There was no better time for innovators to showcase their skills and creativity


This Metaverse Innovation Challenge offered hackers an opportunity to start their hacking adventure right away with a $3,000 prize for the winning projects.  


2. ToroNet Hackathon

The ToroNet hackathon was a 27-day event that started on October 30, 2023 and came to an end on December 7, 2023, with a virtual closing ceremony. 


During the hackathon, developers had opportunities to participate in online workshops organized by the ToroNet team and they also enjoyed prompt and instant communication that helped them through the project-building process on TóróNet.


In the closing ceremony, 56 participants were celebrated for their impressive innovation and achievements during the hackathon. Out of these talented developers, five were declared winners and offered bounties worth $18,000.


This hackathon was not just a great opportunity for developers to hack, build teams, collaborate, and win prizes, but to build applications that demonstrate their practical functionality in resolving community problems.  Click here to get the full details in a press release.


Ongoing Aleph Zero Hackathon

We have an ongoing hackathon with Aleph Zero on techFiesta with a bounty prize of $3500. Aleph Zero is a privacy-enhancing layer 1 blockchain, engineered for speed, achieving efficiencies akin to conventional web2 systems. It upholds rigorous standards for data privacy and transaction security while aiming for genuine decentralization over time.


The task for this hackathon falls into three categories: DeFi, ZK, and Tooling/Infrastructure to create developer/infrastructure tooling for the Aleph Zero Ecosystem. Aside from the bounty prize of $3500, hackers get access to grants of up to  $500k per project.

Important Resources for Aleph Zero Hackathon

Aleph Zero offered a developer workshop on techFiesta for participants to prepare for the hackathon. This training provides participants with guidance and mentorship through a couple of events before the actual hackathon begins. This developer training took place on Zoom, on the topic “How to Create Smart Contract With Ink”. ‘Ink is the language they use for their smart contracts.


The second training session was the kick-off of this hackathon. Aleph Zero Developer Relations Specialist, Uladzislau Savenia introduced Aleph Zero and shared their expectations with the hackathon participants. Maria Eneva-Olms, the CEO of EkoLance shared the key details about the hackathon and showed the participants how they can register on techFiesta and submit their projects.
